Coast to Coast

2007 was the year for travel for us. Between weddings and vacation we went from one coast to the other coast.

In May, My cousin Addie got married out in California so we flew out there for a quick weekend to join in the festivities. The weather was beautiful and she couldn't have picked a better time of the year to get married. Due to my scheduling error..we really didn't get to see much of the sites. But we did get to experience what ever commuter in the Los Angeles, deals with on a daily bases, the 405!!! And we thought the Katy Freeway was bad.

Our next trip took us to Mexico, Maine to visit my mom's side of the family. This was Daryl's first trip to Maine. The weather was nice and cool. For us Texans I guess anything below 90 is cool for us and we were loving the "cooler" weather that we got to experience. My uncles teased Daryl because he would wear his Carhart in the evenings but in his defense it did get to 50 at night and for a Texas boy that is drastic , considering we are used to 90 degree weather at night in August.

Daryl got to swim in the spring fed river that runs behind my grams house, which even during the summer it rarely gets above 60 degrees, help chop wood for the winter and a Maine cook out with lobster and clams. We also got to see Moose, three cows and one young bull.

For our last trip of the year we went to Traverse City Michigan for my other cousin T's wedding. This was my first trip to Michigan even though I lived "next door" for 19 years. Traverse City was a gorgeous lakeside town. It was really easy getting around the town except when we were trying to find the restaurant that T's rehearsal dinner was at. Molly and Nanny were starting to think that there may not be a wedding for Daryl and I the way we were carrying on in the car ;-)

Don't you just love blogland? Get to know some of your relatives that you've never met. Aunt Elsie told me about your blog. Just wanted to say "HI" ...~Ann
